Facial Cleansing & Exfoliation

Facial Cleansing & Exfoliation — Cleansers, Cleansing Oils, AHAs/PHAs

Cleansing is the first step in any routine—and the one where most routine problems begin. Too harsh: dry, stressed skin. Too gentle: makeup and sunscreen residue remain. At BONSANA, you’ll find 8 facial cleansers and chemical exfoliants in a curated selection — from mild cleansers to weekly AHA/PHA treatments.

All items in stock in Switzerland, 24-hour shipping, free shipping on orders over CHF 50.

Which cleanser is right for me?

  • For normal to dry skin — mild cream cleansers or cleansing oil, no “squeaky clean” feeling afterward
  • For oily or blemish-prone skin — gel cleansers or light foam cleansers, optionally with niacinamide or salicylic acid
  • For sensitive skin — fragrance-free cream cleanser, containing cica or aloe
  • If you wear makeup or sunscreen — double cleansing: first cleansing oil, then a mild cleanser

What we carry

  • Cream / Foam Cleansers — MAD HIPPIE Cream Cleanser, HIDEHERE Green Tea Collagen Gel Cleanser
  • Multi-purpose cleansers with active ingredients — SKINCYCLOPEDIA AHA/PHA Cleanser 150ml, SKINCYCLOPEDIA Niacinamide Cleanser
  • Chemical peels (weekly treatment) — MAD HIPPIE AHA Exfoliating Peel, MAD HIPPIE Microdermabrasion Facial

Application

  1. Morning: Gentle cleanser or just water — the skin isn’t “dirty” overnight
  2. Evening: If wearing makeup or sunscreen: first use cleansing oil (double cleansing), then a regular cleanser
  3. Weekly: Chemical peel (AHA/PHA) as a treatment step after cleansing, before serum
  4. Never use water that’s too hot — lukewarm is sufficient and gentler on the skin
  5. Pay special attention to sun protection the day after exfoliating

Brands in the cleansing range

  • SKINCYCLOPEDIA — AHA/PHA cleansers, niacinamide cleansers
  • MAD HIPPIE — Cream Cleanser, AHA Exfoliating Peel, Microdermabrasion Facial
  • HIDEHERE — Green Tea Collagen Gel Cleanser

FAQ: Cleansing & Exfoliation

What is double cleansing?
Two consecutive cleansing steps: first an oil-based cleanser that dissolves makeup and sunscreen, followed by a water-based cleanser that rinses the skin clean. Recommended in the evening when wearing makeup or heavy sunscreen.

AHA or PHA — what’s the difference?
AHA (alpha hydroxy acids like glycolic or lactic acid) work on the skin’s surface. PHA (polyhydroxy acids) are the gentler cousins — same mechanism, less irritating, good for sensitive skin.

How often should I use a chemical exfoliant?
Once or twice a week is enough. More frequent use can irritate the skin. For very sensitive skin, use every two weeks or opt for PHA instead of AHA.

Do I need a toner after cleansing?
Optional—modern cleansers are rarely so harsh that the skin needs a toner to “recover.” If you like a toner, use it as a hydration step (HIDEHERE Hyaluronic Essence or Cica Care Toner Emulsion).
