With or without a tingling sensation—what does that mean?
The signature CARMEX tingling sensation comes from camphor and menthol—ingredients in the original formula since 1937. Some love it, some don’t. If you don’t like the tingling sensation, choose Sun Defense SPF 30 or Naturally Berry/Watermelon. If you do like it: all other stick varieties contain the original formula.
Directions
- Open the stick and apply directly to the lips
- Reapply as often as needed—in windy or cold conditions, or in direct sunlight
- Reapply SPF sticks every 2 hours during outdoor activities
- Can also be applied over lipstick—as a moisturizing layer after makeup
FAQ Lip Balm Stick
Lipstick with SPF—even in winter?
Yes. UV rays affect your lips year-round, and in winter, their effects are even intensified by snow reflection while skiing. SPF 15 is for everyday use; SPF 30 is for skiing or long days outdoors.
Are CARMEX sticks vegan?
No—all CARMEX products contain beeswax and lanolin and are therefore not vegan.
Can I use CARMEX sticks during pregnancy?
The regular CARMEX sticks contain camphor and menthol—if you have concerns, try the Naturally line or the Sun Defense Stick (both free of camphor and menthol). If you’re unsure, consult your midwife or doctor.
How long does a CARMEX Stick last?
A 4.25 g stick typically lasts 2–3 months with daily use. It lasts shorter in the summer when used more frequently.
