FAQ: Serums
What’s the difference between a serum and a cream?
A serum has a lighter, more watery texture and higher concentrations of active ingredients. It absorbs quickly. A cream is richer, seals in moisture, and locks in the active ingredients.
Can I layer multiple serums on top of each other?
Yes—apply from thinnest to thickest, allowing time for each layer to absorb. Example: Apply hyaluronic acid serum, let it absorb briefly, then apply niacinamide on top. Do not use acids and retinol together.
How long does a serum last?
A 30-ml bottle typically lasts 2–3 months with daily use. Vitamin C serums oxidize over time—replace them if they discolor (yellowish-brown).
Which serum is best for beginners?
Hyaluronic acid 1% is very well tolerated and provides immediately noticeable hydration. SKIN REPUBLIC Hyaluronic Acid 1% or SKINCYCLOPEDIA Hyaluron 10% + B5 are good options for beginners.
