What is a pre-wash oil?
A hair oil that you apply to dry hair before shampooing — lengths and ends, and optionally the scalp. It works for 30 minutes to overnight and is rinsed out during your next wash. Unlike a leave-in oil (which stays in the hair), pre-wash oil leaves no residue — you get the care without the heavy look.
Application
- Apply Pre-Wash Oil to dry hair—lengths and ends, optionally massage into the scalp
- Leave on for at least 30 minutes, or optionally overnight
- Tip: Wrap hair in a towel or shower cap to retain heat
- When washing, shampoo twice—the first time the shampoo binds to the oil, the second time it cleanses thoroughly
- Follow with regular conditioner
- Once a week is sufficient for most people
