10 steps, a 30-minute routine, a 200 CHF budget—the typical K-Beauty narrative. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Here’s the honest, short version: three steps, well-cared-for skin, doable every day.
What is K-Beauty, anyway?
K-Beauty is Korean skincare—an umbrella term for a skincare philosophy that originated in South Korea. The core idea: skin is viewed as an investment, not something that needs fixing. Instead of single, potent “active ingredient bombs,” many light, complementary steps are layered on top of one another—the famous 10-step routine.
The problem: For most Western Europeans, the 10-step routine is nonsense. Too much time, too many products, too much money. What’s left when you strip the routine down to the essentials? Three steps.
The 3-Step K-Beauty Routine
The simplest, most sensible K-Beauty routine consists of three steps: cleansing, essence, face cream. That’s it. Everything else is optional.
Step 1: Cleansing with a mild gel cleanser
Cleansing is the most important step—not because it adds anything, but because it lays the foundation. Incorrect cleansing = dry or irritated skin, no matter what you apply afterward.
In K-Beauty, the standard is a mild, hydrating cleansing gel. No harsh surfactants, no “squeaky clean” feeling. Your skin should feel soft after cleansing, not tight.
Our recommendation: HIDEHERE Green Tea Cleanser, a cleansing gel with green tea extract and hydrolyzed collagen. Removes makeup and excess oil without stripping the skin. Suitable for use in the morning and evening.
Step 2: Essence — the Overlooked K-Beauty Step
This is the step that almost everyone who isn’t familiar with K-Beauty skips. An essence is a water-like, lightweight skincare product applied after cleansing and before moisturizer. It does two things: it provides an initial layer of hydration and prepares the skin to better absorb the subsequent skincare products.
This step rarely appears in Western skincare routines—which is why many Western Europeans wonder why their skin still feels dry even after “proper” cleansing. The answer: because they’re missing the essence.
Our recommendation: HIDEHERE Hyaluronic Acid Essence with multi-molecular hyaluronic acid in various sizes. Apply a small amount to damp skin, gently pat it in, and let it absorb. Takes 20 seconds.
Step 3: Finish with Face Cream
The cream seals in the moisture from the cleanser and essence. Without cream, it all evaporates again.
Which cream you choose depends on your skin type. Here are the three HIDEHERE options:
- Normal to dry skin — HIDEHERE Hyaluronic Acid Face Cream . All-around moisturizer.
- Tired, dull-looking skin — HIDEHERE Vitamin Face Cream . With a vitamin and nutrient complex.
- Sensitive skin — HIDEHERE Cica Face Cream . The mildest formula with Centella Asiatica.
A pea-sized amount is enough. Gently spread it over your face and neck, massage it in, and you’re done.
That’s it. Three steps. Five minutes.
Morning and night. That’s the basic K-Beauty routine. If you stick with it for four weeks, you’ll see the difference—not because a miracle happens, but because consistent, gentle care works.
Optional: What comes after the three steps?
Once you’ve got the basics down, you can expand your routine. Here’s a recommended order:
Sunscreen in the morning
Actually, it’s not optional—it’s a must—but as an additional step after your moisturizer. In K-Beauty, sunscreen is standard, not a bonus.
The HIDEHERE Cica Sunscreen SPF 50+ has a lightweight texture without a white cast and works well under makeup.
Eye cream for thinner skin
The skin around the eyes is thinner and drier than the rest of the face. An eye cream is a good idea if you notice dryness there. The HIDEHERE Hyaluronic Eye Cream doesn’t roll off under makeup and is fragrance-free.
Vitamin Serum for Days When Your Skin Looks Dull
On days when your skin looks tired, an additional serum can help. The HIDEHERE Vitamin Face Serum is applied after the essence and before the face cream. It contains a concentrated complex of vitamins and nutrients.
2-in-1 Toner Emulsion for Sensitive Skin
If you have sensitive skin and are looking for a step between cleansing and the essence: the HIDEHERE Cica Toner Emulsion is a 2-in-1 formula with Centella Asiatica—soothing and moisturizing at the same time.
Sleeping Mask at Night
When your skin is crying out for an extra layer of care—for example, in winter, after a long day, or after a flight—a night mask is the easiest solution.
Apply the HIDEHERE Collagen Night Mask, formulated with collagen and adenosine, as your final step and wash it off in the morning. No extra effort required.

How long will it take to see results?
Four to six weeks of consistent use. Skin renews itself in cycles—you won’t see much in the first week, but you’ll start to notice a difference by week three. The most important thing: do it every day, not just on the weekends.
Do I have to follow both routines—morning and night?
Ideally, yes. If that’s too much: the nighttime routine is more important than the morning one. Your skin regenerates at night. If you can only follow the routine once a day, do it at night.
Can I combine this routine with other brands?
Yes. K-Beauty isn’t a closed system. If you’re already using a Western cleanser that works, stick with it. What you probably don’t have yet is the essence. That’s where the real K-Beauty effect begins.
What if my skin reacts sensitively?
Switch to the Cica Care line. Centella Asiatica (“Cica”) has been used in Korean skincare for decades to treat sensitive skin. It soothes, doesn’t trigger additional reactions, and is well-tolerated.
Why are all HIDEHERE products 25 ml?
Because most people don’t finish their skincare products. A 25-ml bottle lasts 6–8 weeks with normal use. That’s enough to get an honest impression—and not so much that the product ends up half-full and gathering dust in a drawer if you don’t like it.
Does this work for men, too?
Yes. Skin has no gender. K-Beauty is the standard for everyone in Korea. The HIDEHERE range is low in fragrance and gender-neutral.
