Salicylic acid is the active ingredient that most skincare routines for blemish-prone skin start with.
The SKIN REPUBLIC Salicylic Acid 2% Serum is a lightweight, fast-absorbing serum containing 2% salicylic acid (BHA), niacinamide, and witch hazel extract. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid that is fat-soluble and can therefore reach clogged pores. Niacinamide helps regulate sebum production, while witch hazel is a traditional botanical ingredient used in skincare for oily skin.
2% is an effective concentration without being overly harsh. Pair with sunscreen during the day—acid serums make the skin more sensitive to UV rays.
Who is it for? For anyone with oily or blemish-prone skin who wants to try incorporating acids into their routine.
Directions
- Apply to cleansed skin in the morning or evening
- Gently massage in and allow to absorb completely
- Follow with a moisturizer
- Be sure to use sunscreen during the day
- 1–2 times daily; depending on skin tolerance, every other day
