Active Ingredients
- 1% pure retinol – medium potency, suitable for users with some retinol experience or as a step up from lower concentrations
- Squalane as a skin-identical carrier – reduces the typical dryness reaction to retinol
- Tocopherol (Vitamin E) stabilizes the retinol and protects against oxidation
Who it’s for
Normal, oily, and combination skin types aged 25 and older. For very sensitive skin or first-time retinol users, start with a lower concentration. Do not use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Application
Use exclusively in the evening, as retinol makes the skin more sensitive to light. Start with 2–3 applications per week and increase to nightly use depending on tolerance. Be sure to use SPF 30+ sunscreen during the day. Apply to dry skin—not damp skin (enhances absorption, may cause irritation).
DO NOT combine with
Vitamin C (only if used separately in the morning vs. evening), AHA/BHA acids (in the same application), or benzoyl peroxide. Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides, on the other hand, are ideal combination partners.
Expectations & Patience
First visible results in 4–6 weeks. Structural skin changes (wrinkles, skin texture) in 8–12 weeks. “Retinol purging” (temporary skin reaction) in the first 1–3 weeks is normal.
